Air Compressor Application

Schneider Electric specifically identifies air compressors as an intended application for the Class 8911 DPS family. The exact 8911DPSG43V06 is Schneider-rated for 20 HP at 460V three phase. Use it where the motor horsepower, nameplate current and 440–480V control circuit match the installation.

Overload Heater Selection

This 40A DPSG starter uses Square D B-series thermal units. Heater selection must be based on the motor's actual nameplate full-load current (FLA), not horsepower alone.

Recommended Heater Inserts
B-32 — lower-current selection around the 20 HP / 460V application range
B-36 — mid-range selection
B-40 — higher-current selection

Three matching B-series thermal units are required. Verify the motor's actual nameplate FLA against Square D thermal-unit selection data before ordering heaters.
